Open Virtual Environments for Bicycling Simulators

The OpenBikeSim Library provides an overview of available open-source environments specifically designed for bicycling simulators. Here you will find a collection of virtual environments form the research community that you can use for your experiments, development, or testing. All environments are linked directly to their repositories, making it easy for you to download and integrate the files into your projects.

  • Stairstepper 1.0.1
Artificial map which demonstrates stepwise increase in gradient of the road from 0% to 13% to observe behaviour of bicyclists in prolonged uphill bicycling scenarios.

Is Your Environment Missing? Join the Community!

Have you developed an open virtual environment for bicycling simulators? If so, we invite you to add it to our registry and share your work with the community!

To do this, please send an email to bicycletraffic[at]uni-wuppertal.de with the following details:

  • Title of the environment
  • Short description
  • Software platform (e.g., CARLA, Unity, Unreal Engine, etc.)
  • Link to the repository
  • License
  • An image showing a section of the environment (optional)

Together, we can create an open, collaborative resource for bicycling simulator research!
